Accreditation Process Guide
This guide will help you understand and navigate through the accreditation application process.
Account Creation
Initial StepInstitutions must first request an account from FDRE ETA for their Quality Assurance Directorate. Each institution can have one central user account.
Process Details:
- Request an account from ETA for your institution's Quality Assurance Directorate
- Once approved, the main account can create sub-accounts for department representatives
- Each program representative will use their account to submit applications
Profile Submission
Application PhaseProgram representatives with accounts can login and submit the initial application profile.
Required Documents:
- Official letter indicating representation for the program
- Completed application form with institutional stamp
- Selection of program and accreditation level (Program Level or Campus/Institutional)
Review Outcome:
Proceed to document submission phase
Make changes and resubmit profile
Application ends at this stage
Document Submission
Documentation PhaseAfter profile approval, submit all required accreditation documents.
Required Materials:
Core Documents
- Narrative responses for all standards
- Supplementary materials for each indicator
- Student Satisfaction Survey
- Self Evaluation Report
Submission Notes
- Ensure all documents are complete before submission
- Documents are submitted as a complete package
- You will receive confirmation upon successful submission
Desk Review
Evaluation PhaseETA experts conduct a comprehensive desk review of all submitted documents.
Review Process:
- Comprehensive evaluation of all submitted materials
- Assessment against accreditation standards
- Review completed by subject matter experts
Possible Outcomes:
Application moves to Team of Assessors review
15 days to revise and resubmit documents
Application ends at this stage
Team of Assessors Review
Assessment PhaseA team of assessors conducts document analysis and site visits for comprehensive evaluation.
Assessment Activities:
Document Analysis
- In-depth review of all submitted materials
- Evaluation against accreditation standards
- Identification of strengths and areas for improvement
Site Visit
- On-site evaluation of facilities and resources
- Interviews with staff, faculty, and students
- Observation of educational processes
Accreditation Council Decision
Final PhaseThe Accreditation Council makes the final decision based on the assessment team's report.
Possible Outcomes:
Granted for 5 years
- Meets all accreditation standards
- No significant compliance issues
Granted for 3 years
- Meets most accreditation standards
- Minor compliance issues to address
Must wait 1 year to reapply
- Does not meet accreditation standards
- Significant compliance issues
